     About Foo Fu Dog

Lions, seen as spiritual in Buddhist and Hindu religion, is discerned as a protector of the sacred and defender of evil spirits, trespassers and offenders. These aesthetic statues are commonly presented as a male and female pair. The male lion is depicted holding a ball or globe under his paw, symbolizing supremacy and safety. The female lion holds a playful cub under hers, signifying nurture and protection. Foo Dogs are still popular in China and several other countries today.
